If you were looking for a proper action based MMORPG, however, then TERA Online is one of the best of them. As it stands, however, its combat is the only thing that really makes it special, and there's not much to push you forward other than a want to experience all the combat has to offer. If it was released back alongside World of Warcraft, it might have revolutionized the genre. Its quest structure, crafting, and story are all behind the curve when it comes to modern MMORPGs. However, everything outside of that is dreadfully dated. As you begin playing, you'll find that the game does indeed deliver on its promise of action-based combat. Make sure to make an account if you haven't already. After that, it'll have to patch through its launcher, after which you can play. TERA Online's installation process is simple - download its installer and run it. TERA Online, however, aims to change that. Not only that, it isn't exactly thrilling most of the time - only the most challenging dungeons and raids require you to have your brain turned on. While many would argue that form of combat is plenty tactical (being an endgame FFXIV player, I would agree), it doesn't hold a candle to proper action games when it comes to split second decisions. There are very few action MMORPGs out there - most of the genre has been defined by World of Warcraft and similarly follows that combat formula.
